With commiserations to those that planned outdoor events, school children whose field trips have been postponed, and tourists who have come from far away to see the Himalaya, it’s been grey and rainy since I wrote here last—and all in all it’s pretty wonderful.
I’ve been known to wax lyrical over monsoon, so it should come as no surprise that after an unusually dry and mild winter, I’m finding this spell of spring rain extremely welcome. For the areas of the country experiencing wildfires, it’s a lifesaver. The farmers preparing to plant the season’s rice will be glad for it, too.
The temperature had been on the rise, but since the weather’s changed we’ve enjoyed bursts of sunshine interspersed with grey, overcast clouds, bringing pleasant coolness through the whole day. Then the rain comes—often at night—carrying away the dust and brightening the plants, who are putting out new leaves and flowers all over the place. It may not always look bright and picturesque, but it sure feels wonderful.
Marv, however, is not among those enjoying the wet spell: all his favourite hangout spots are a little soggy. During a sunny moment, however, even he seemed to appreciate the flowers.
Enjoying this, and the crisp style -- and photos!
