The southern plains of the Terai get much hotter in the summer than Kathmandu does, but winters are cold there, too. It’s a place of greater extremes. Recently, I learned that this is how some creative farmers have been keeping their flocks warm; these photos were taken early last month in the Nepalgunj area by a friend and shared with her kind permission*. I cannot get enough of them. Here’s another.
I encountered a flock of goats myself over the weekend, but they were coatless, every one of them. I checked. Clearly this is a southern fashion.
Okay, last one.
*All photos on Kathmandu Alley Cat are taken by me unless otherwise noted, like today. It’s going to be a hard act to follow.
